MCPOM Annual Summer Picnic and Cookout!

Registration

  • $5 covers all members of the family listed on MCPOM profile (i.e. parent(s), multiples and siblings) You may bring guests for $5/Adult (must register/pay for guests on this site. No children outside of MCPOM are permitted.
  • If you or your spouse/partner listed on the MCPOM.org profile can help us for an hour on the day of the event, your admission fee is waived.

Start your summer off with some fun outdoor activities with MCPOM at our picnic/cookout. 

Location:  Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds, MD. Shelter "I" (eye) is our main shelter with ample parking lot. We have also rented Shelter "E" that also has a parking lot in the unlikely event that the "I" lot is full. 

Date/Time: Sunday, June 2 from 3pm-5pm.

Food: This year we are doing a cookout!  MCPOM will provide hamburgers/hotdogs/condiments/water/dessert. In the registration form you will be asked to indicate what store bought side dish your family can contribure to share. 

This year we will have a pre-paid Kona Ice Truck on site to provide you and your family with cool treats at no extra charge! Truck courtesy of MCPOM Member Steve Withrow and The Withrow Group at Compass Real Estate. 

 Activities:

  • Face Painting or glitter tattoos (applied like face paint but last a few days)
  • Crafts
  • Tie Dye Fun  **Please bring a white shirt or item you would like to tie dye- MPCOM will only be supplying the dye and necessary tools** Please label items. 

**You can purchase white Tshirts for tie dye from MCPOM. Please indicate in the registration form what sizes you will need and you will be able to pay at the picnic via credit/debit card. 

  • Kids lawn games/activities led by a teacher 
  • Playground close to our shelters 

Cost: The cost is $5 per family. This is for your immediate family members only. (Spouse/partner and children that are listed on your mcpom.org profile). Since MCPOM subsidizes a portion of the cost we are unable to have children that are not siblings at the picnic.

---A waitlist will be started after the increased shelter capacity is reached. 

--Registration will Close in the evening of Thursday May 30. This is to allow event planners to be sure we have enough supplies/food/drinks on hand for everyone! 

---We will have a need for Volunteers for this event. If you sign up as a Volunteer please indicate what shift/station you will help at. As a thank you, we will waive the $5 admission fee! Thank you for your help in making this event run smoothly! As always SSL volunteers are welcome! Please email Kate directly at katetomes24@gmail.com to sign up an SSL volunteer. 


It is sure to be a fun time for the whole family! We hope you will join us for this exciting event!

*Black Hills has tons to do if you get there early. Hiking and boating to name a couple.
